Do pack the brown sugar when you are making this recipe? Also, do you think I can use canola oil instead of the vegetable shortening, or will I need the shortening to get the consistency of the crust right? I am happy that you put the apples with the plums in this dessert. I think combo fruit desserts are so tasty and give you such a wonderful taste and richness.
