"Sink your teeth into these cupcakes that look and taste just like a watermelon! They’re the cutest and most delicious summer cupcakes around. Bring these yummy treats out for a new and different take on the classic backyard barbecue dessert. Make these cupcakes your watermelon ending to a great get together! My favorite candy has always been watermelon flavored anything, and I make a mean cupcake. It just made sense to whip up these delicious white cake cupcakes flavored with watermelon and topped with watermelon flavored buttercream frosting."

Ingredients

  • 1 box White cake mix, plus ingredients called for on the box
  • 1 cup Mini chocolate chips
  • 1 package Watermelon Jell-O
  • Red and yellow food coloring
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 3 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Whole milk
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  1. For the Watermelon Cupcakes

  2. Preheat oven and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

  3. Prepare batter according to package directions. Stir in jello mix. Stir in red food coloring. Stir in a little yellow food coloring until you reach your desired shade of pink.

  4. Fold in chocolate chips.

  5. Fill cupcake liners ~2/3 of the way full and bake according to package directions.
