Ingredients

  • 1 box spice flavor cake mix
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetables oil
  • 1/3 cup dark molasses
  • 2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Assorted candies and icing for decorating

Instructions

  1. Combine cake mix with flour, and ginger. Mix eggs, oil, and molasses in a small bowl and add with mixer running for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate dough at least 2 hours before continuing.

  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters and place on parchment lined baking sheets, allowing 2 inches between cookies. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes until edges just begin to brown. Cool on a cooling rack.

  4. Decorate cookies as desired.
