Red, White, and Blue Whoopie Pies
Red White and Blue Whoopie Pies

"Ever since I was first allowed to purchase Whoopie Pies at the grocery store bakery, I have been hooked! They are like mini delicious cakes with a pillowy soft marshmallow frosting. They are totally poppable. One will never be enough! I jazzed these up for the fourth of July. I highly recommend using gel dyes to get the brightest color. This is especially true for red as typical food coloring usually gives a dark pink at best."

Can you use a half and half mix of white and wheat flour in this recipe, or does it need to be all white flour to get the consistency right? I love how patriotic your whoopie pies are because we all need a few special red, white, and blue desserts in our recipe box, huh? I am looking forward to summer cookouts and showing off these fun little pies. Thanks for the inspiration.
