Enjoy the same great hazelnut and cocoa flavor that you get out of your Nutella spread with this Nutella Scone recipe. Even though they look like giant chocolate brownies, they are 100% scones. This easy scone recipe is light, flaky, and not overrun with chocolate flavor. This is the perfect partner to a cold glass of milk. It doesn't matter if you're looking for a treat for a relaxing Sunday morning, or a hectic weekday, this is the breakfast for you.

Makes: 6 scones

Note from the Editor

I used to not be a fan of Nutella. I know, I know  — who could ever dislike a jar of creamy, chocolatey goodness? I just didn't understand the obsession with cocoa and hazelnut that overtook the U.S. a few years ago. That is, I didn't understand it until I lived abroad for a few months. I lived in Nutella's home country, Italy, which meant I was at the epicenter of Europe's love affair with all things hazelnut-chocolate. It's as common of a combination over there as peanut butter and chocolate is in the States.

After only a few days abroad, I began to appreciate Nutella for the deliciousness that it truly is. Most mornings, my breakfast consisted of biscotti or at least one pastry slathered in Nutella. Between class and meetings, I would often stroll into a cafe for an espresso and a Nutella-flavored treat. If you have yet to open your mind to the possibilities of this hazelnut spread, I definitely recommend trying it on a slice of toast or in a recipe like these amazing Nutella Scones.

Oh NO why did I have to see this?! It looks PERFECT. I would scarf all of these in like 10 minutes flat.
