The flavor of this root beer float recipe is enough to make your mouth water. Everyone's favorite soft beverage is the star of this Root Beer Float Lasagna. Your kids will think it's the most unique thing they've ever eaten. Dessert recipes like this don't get any more refreshing. Everybody loves easy dessert recipes, and this one is no different. Simply gather your ingredients and do a little mixing. The flavors blend together so nicely - just like a real root beer float. Be sure to chill it well to give it a firm texture that will be enjoyed bite after bite. This might end up being a new summertime favorite for everyone on the block. Forget the ice cream parlor, because now you can make a root beer float that doesn't need to be sipped on to be loved. Bring this to your next potluck for a unique dessert that will be enjoyed by everyone who tastes it.


  • 2 cups graham crackers, crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup root beer
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 box vanilla pudding mix (4 oz dry mix only)
  • 2 tablespoons root beer concentrate
  • 8 ounces package cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cool whip
  • More cool whip for topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla


  1. Grease 9 x 13 baking dish and set aside.

  2. In a bowl combine graham cracker crumbs with butter. Place mixture on 9x13 and pack down.

  3. Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla on medium speed (hand mixer or stand mixer). Mix together until light and fluffy. Fold in 1 cup cool whip. Evenly spread this cream cheese mixture on top of graham cracker bottom.

  4. In a bowl combine root beer, milk, root beer concentrate and bidding mix and stir until it thickens. Spread on top of whipped topping layer.

  5. Finish by spreading cool whip to cover the entire 9x13 tray. Refrigerate overnight.

I would have liked this recipe a lot better if it would have been a little more solid, but the flavor was good.

I liked the root beer flavor, but i think if this had chilled a few hours in the freezer it would have been more solid and easier to serve.

I thought this dessert lasagna was just okay. I think it has a little too much whipped topping on it and didn't set all that well. Perhaps it would be better if left to chill longer.
