I tried this cake. I made it for a last minute dinner with friends. It was delicious! The only thing that I received comments on (other than being tasty) was it was super "gooey". Almost to the point of seeming under cooked...anyone else? Wondering if it was the brand of cake mix?

I can't believe how easy this is to make! I love the sweet chocolate flavor of the cake combined with the rich flavor of cherry. The nuts on top is what brought it all together. I don't usually like cherries all that much, but this tasted great, especially when it came right out of the oven. I would definitely make this again because it's so simple to whip up.

This is similar to a recipe my aunt made when I was a kid, so it brought back fond memories. Now that it's top of mind (and top of stomach - delicious!), I'll have to whip up this version at home.

The actual cherry pieces in this cake were, surprisingly, my favorite part! I'm not usually a huge fan of fruit in my dessert, but the addition of cherry to this rich, chocolaty cake was just perfect!

If you love chocolate, then you'll do crazy for this cake. I don't normally love cherries, but the addition was actually really nice. The cake was sweet but not over-the-top. The cherry pie filling made this even better (who doesn't love a soft and gooey piece of pie or cake?). I only wish I could some more!

I love to eat my desserts cold, so I popped my slice of black forest cake into the freezer. After about ten minutes, it was perfect! I loved the rich chocolate flavor combined with the crunch of the walnuts.
