Chocolate and salted caramel is one magical combination. This easy dump cake recipe blends that sweet salted caramel taste with rich chocolate. Recipes with cake mix such as this Salted Caramel Chocolate Dump Cake are excellent for the casual baker who needs to make a tasty treat in a short amount of time. Put that chocolate cake mix that has been sitting in your kitchen pantry to good use!

Baking this cake is a no-hassle, no-stress affair. Simply dump all the ingredients together, and you can be dining on this chocolate caramel cake in little more than 30 minutes. For an added treat, serve this cake warm with a scoop of ice cream. We suggest you drizzle caramel sauce and hot fudge over the top to bring out all the wonderful flavors of this cake. Yum!

  • 1 (3.9-ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (16.5 ounce) box Devils food cake mix
  • 8 ounces caramel candies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8 x 8 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, combine the pudding mix and milk on low speed for 1 minute. Add the dry cake mix and continue to stir on low until the mixture is smooth and there are no dry ingredients or lumps.

  3. Spread this mixture into the prepared baking pan, pushing to the corners with a spatula the batter will be very stiff. Sprinkle the chopped caramels on top, then sprinkle evenly with the sea salt flakes. Bake about 40 minutes until the center tests done when a toothpick is inserted into it. Remove from oven to a cooling rack.

  4. While cake cools, place chocolate chips into a microwaveable bowl and place into microwave. Cook on full power for 30 seconds; stir and continue to heat in 30-second intervals until chips can be stirred completely smooth. Drizzle chocolate over the cake.

This recipe looks delicious for anyone who loves chocolate! I will definitely be making this soon.

This cake was so good I went back for seconds! It has the texture of a brownie so one slice goes a long way. Yum!

This cake was so gooey and delicious that I had to take breaks in between each bite. The salt makes this!

Delicious! It was more brownie-like - not that there's anything wrong with that!

Yum! The cake was almost like a brownie with plenty of chocolate and caramel on top.

Get ready for some gooey, delicious cake. Best served warm. A little ice cream on the side would be nice too!

I'm not a huge carmel fan, but I love chocolate and this dump cake was incredibly chocolatey and moist!

This rich chocolate cake will put a smile on your face. It was delicious!

This is good for a dessert you need to make in a hurry. I didn't like how the caramels were mostly solid in the cake, however. I'd try caramel sauce or homemade caramel instead.
