Copycat Mcdonald's Shamrock Shake

Here’s a Copycat McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. It’s Minty delicious in every sip. Every year around the end of February to the beginning of March, McDonald’s restaurants celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by putting back on their menu the ever popular Shamrock Shake. After St. Patrick’s Day it’s gone until the next year. My son and I always and I mean always used to go a few times during the month of March to get one for each of us in the car. It had been a tradition and had to be enjoyed in the car. If you like mint chocolate chip ice cream, you are sure to love a thick and creamy Shamrock Shake. The reason why I started to make a copycat version is because we both didn’t want to wait a whole year to enjoy one of our favorite minty shakes. Well, it was time to get to work. After talking to one of the nice cashiers at our local McDonald’s, I asked her if she knew what was in a Shamrock Shake. She was so sweet and told me what she knew to be in one of those luscious, minty thick shakes. I jotted it down quickly and went home to start making my own version.After a few tries, we had a winner! When my version was ready to be taste tested, my son told me it tasted “fantastic” and he thought it tasted just like the Shamrock Shake we had at McDonald’s. That’s exactly what I was hoping for. Now, this delicious shake does not have to be made just around St. Patrick’s Day. We make it year round. "
