Preparation Time15 min
Cooking Time1 hr 20 min
Ingredients
- 10 ounces unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 5 eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup Cherry Dr. Pepper
- Vanilla drizzle
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean extract
- 1 jar caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
-
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10 cup bundt pan.
-
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream the butter on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add in the sugar and continue mixing for 3-4 minutes, until light and fluffy.
-
Beat in the eggs one at a time. Mix in the vanilla.

While the cake is cooling, prepare the vanilla drizzle.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk the confectioners' sugar, cream, and vanilla until a smooth and pourable consistency is achieved.
-
When the cake has cooled, place it on a cake platter.
-
Pour the vanilla drizzle over the cake.
-
Warm about 1 cup of the caramel sauce and drizzle over the cake. Top with chopped pecans.

This dessert was SO good! I am not the biggest fan of soda, specifically Dr. Pepper. But, this Dr. Pepper flavoring was so subtle. It was the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness! Will totally be trying this again!

Dr. Pepper is my beverage of choice, so imagine my delight when I found this recipe for CAKE using it! It's so moist, just the right amount of sweetness, and frankly, is so good it doesn't even need the frosting.

The pound cake was moist and not dry, and the toppings were a good finishing touch on a not too sweet dessert!

This cake was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. Not too sweet, but still enough to satisfy your sweet tooth! It also wasn't too dense for a pound cake, so it didn't feel as heavy as regular pound cakes often do.

Dr. Pepper is my family's soft drink of choice so it's definitely my favorite. I really loved this cake. It had the buttery texture of pound cake but also picked up some of those 23 flavors from the Dr. Pepper. Even a small slice will satisfy any sweet tooth.

This cake was very tasty - especially the frosting. However, I was expecting it to have more of a Dr. Pepper flavor.
