My Favorite Chocolate Frosting Homemade Recipe

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Unsalted butter (1.5 sticks), softened
- 1/4 cup Vegetable shortening
- 4 cups Powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Heavy cream

To make your frosting, start by adding the butter and shortening into a large mixing bowl.

Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the butter and shortening until smooth.

Add the sifted powdered sugar a little at a time and mix again until creamy and smooth.

Sift in the cocoa powder and mix again. The frosting will be pretty thick!

Add in the vanilla and cream a little at a time until the frosting is at the right consistency.

Continue beating the frosting until it’s thick and smooth!
