In order to make quality desserts, you need quality tools. This is especially true when it comes to baking cookies. If you don’t have the right cookie sheets, your treats won’t bake very well. If you don’t have the right kind of spatula, you could break your cookies apart as you’re trying to pry them off of your cookie sheet. You get the idea. That’s why I have to have a quality cookie press when I’m making cookies for special events.

The Kuhn Rikon clear cookie press is, hands down, the best cookie press I’ve ever used. The press itself is lightweight and fits comfortably in the average person’s hand. One problem that I’ve noticed with other cookie presses is that they’re a little too big to use comfortably and that they’re made of heavy materials that only get heavier when filled with dough. I didn’t have that problem at all with my Kuhn Rikon cookie press. Because the press is made of lightweight (yet durable) materials, it’s still easy to hold while filled with dough. The only issue I had with the press' design was that it's so smooth that it's a little hard to hold onto when working with greasy dough. But even that wasn't too much of a challenge.

I also really like the press’ clear plastic chamber because it allows me to see how much dough I have left in the press. My mom has a really old cookie press that has an all-metal chamber, which makes it almost impossible to know if I’m coming to the end of my dough. When I used to use that one, I had to guess how much was left by how far the knob on the back was from the chamber. But with the Kuhn Rikon clear cookie press, I know exactly when to start preparing to refill or finish off my batch.

One of my favorite parts about this cookie press is its variety of metal cookie discs. There are fourteen discs, to be exact. While a lot of people only use cookie presses for Christmas cookies, I like that this cookie press gives me the option to use it all year long. Pumpkins, hearts, snowmen, candy canes, straws, and dinosaurs are just some of the cookie shapes that I can make with this cookie press. When I made a batch of spritz cookies with the Kuhn Rikon cookie press, the cookies came out great. They came out of the press the perfect size and shape that I needed. Using the press to make them couldn't have been easier.

Another thing you'll like about this cookie press is that it comes with a few recipes to try, including one to make homemade cheese straws! Since the dough has to be just soft enough to use in the cookie press, it's really great that you don't have to go searching for press-friendly recipes if you don't have them.

I really enjoy using my Kuhn Rikon clear cookie press and recommend it to anyone who loves baking cookies. You won't find another cookie press that's more reliable or easy to use than this one.
