How to Make Desserts Healthier

Healthy dessert recipes are great, but sometimes you just can't find a healthy version of that one thing you've been craving. But really, there's no need to compromise! It's just as easy to take your favorite dessert recipe and make it healthier by making some simple but healthy substitutions to the ingredients.

For gluten-free bakers, substituting flour is the real challenge. Luckily, there are plenty of replacements, like almond flour and even black beans, so you can make delicious desserts that are free of gluten!

Many vegan bakers often find themselves in a similar predicament; living that plant-based lifestyle comes with its challenges, but you'll never have to give up dessert. Simply replacing regular milk with almond milk, eggs for pureed bananas, or even using a chia seed and water mixture to get the texture just right can help you enjoy your favorite baked goods completely guilt-free!

Healthy Fruit Dessert Recipes

Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

The natural sweetness of fruit is the perfect substitute for traditional sugary dessert recipes. Some of these recipes are refreshingly simple, such as the Fresh Summer Fruit Salad. Other, like the Healthy Strawberry Rhubarb Bars, are more like traditional dessert bars.

Many of these fruit-filled desserts also have one not-so-secret ingredient in common: Jello. These fresh and tasty desserts are the perfect after-dinner treat. They aren't too heavy, but sure are tasty! Whether you pair it with strawberries or turn it into a fluff, Jello is a great way to take your dessert game to the next level.
