Butter, cream, and sugar form the base for these homemade mints. Just beat in peppermint extract for flavor, and the dough is done! You can roll these butter mints into small balls, or cut them into tiny squares. Either way, they will taste the same! We used these for my wedding years ago. They went over very well. I never remembered the recipe, so I have never had them since unless I buy them in the store, but they are just not the same as making them fresh. I can't wait to try these. Do you have similar recipes? Like maybe a spearmint version.

I love butter mints, and this recipe looks easy and quick. Adding a bit of food colouring would give you a nice variation too. Do you know if using a heavy cream substitute such as evaporated milk with butter would work well with this recipe? I don't always have heavy cream handy, but I almost always have evaporated milk.
